As instructed, you only need a small amount to cover, as it warms up when it hits your skin. It has a very soft texture and glides smoothly onto your skin. The balm is super smooth and just melts in your fingers. The small sample gave me enough to use for the whole week and I still have a little bit leftover. So I decided to try the balm strictly on my cheeks for one week, always at the end of the workday after removing my makeup. The constant flux in temperature has wreaked havoc with my sensitive skin. They have been particularly bad lately as it has been very windy and the weather can’t seem to decide if it wants to be winter or spring. As mentioned in previous posts, I have rosacea and my cheeks are always red, dry, and irritated. I chose to sample The Blue Cocoon as it promises to reduce inflammation and irritation. She has great marketing skills! I restrained myself however and purchased just a small sample of her beauty balm concentrate. After reading her site, if I had the money I would have bought everything she has to offer. Her descriptions and promises envelop you, and I dare anyone to take a read and not be persuaded to even try their products. Her candor and beautiful penmanship deserve high praise. While she may make some lofty claims, her words are simply poetic. I call this May’s website, as she writes in the Discover section, “I will speak to you from my voice, always with truth and integrity. I was drawn to this line immediately after reading May’s website. All of their products are vegan except for one The Honey Mud uses… well, honey.
They are also cruelty-free, which is the most important in my eyes. The products are all produced by hand in small batches, and the ingredients are organic, wild crafted, fair trade, bio-dynamic, conscious, and sustainable. The brand is known as a luxury skincare line and they offer only 7 products and 2 accessories (a masque bowl and brush). I didn’t know much about this brand until I did some more digging, and I liked the philosophy behind the name. Since this line is based out of Los Angeles, California, I ordered my sample of The Blue Cocoon Beauty Balm Concentrate from Clementine Fields. I stumbled across this line while searching an online Canadian site for natural beauty products.
